I quilt for other people and specialise in offering a comprehensive professional machine quilting service to help you turn your patchwork tops into beautiful finished quilts.

This means that you no longer need to pin or baste your quilt and can choose from a wide range of services including -

  • edge to edge continuous line designs.

  • a variety of meandering styles.

  • ditch stitching, cross hatching and outlining.

  • template motifs & feathers.

  • circles, echo quilting & Baptist fans.

  • custom designs to complement individual patchwork.

  • separate borders.

Plus the following sewing services

  •  patchwork top finishing service to add borders or other sewing, required to finish the patchwork top

  •  making and applying bindings once the quilting is completed

  •  adding rod pockets to allow the finished quilt to be hung

You may also choose from my range of batting and backings or provide your own.

Go to the  quilting machine  page to find out why professional machine quilting has different requirements for the provision of batting and backing.

Be sure to read  How to Achieve the Best Results for hints on joining backings and adding borders.

100% Cotton thread, multiple thread colours & other speciality threads are available for a small surcharge. Please discuss your requirements.

A written quote is prepared before quilting commences and mail orders are welcome.

Do you have to have a quilt top finished before contacting me?

No. I work by appointment and schedule 8 - 10 quilts per month and am always booked ahead. To avoid disappointment, you can pre-book an appointment for quilting while you are in the planning stages of making the top.

This way your quilt will be completed in time for the birthday or anniversary for which it was made.

Edge to Edge Quilting -

Edge to Edge Quilting is a continuous line design worked from one edge of the quilt to the other, and repeated from top to bottom of the quilt. With this style of quilting the patchwork design is not used as a guide for the  placement of the quilting pattern.

Heirloom Quilting is a more detailed version of creative quilting.

This border has been stitched with a ribbon pattern, designed by Kin Quilting, and has freeform butterflies in the corners to repeat a design in the applique. Stipple meander on either side of the ribbon adds emphasis and creates a mock trapunto effect.  Click on the photo to see a larger view of this quilt made by Bev Loveday of East Bentleigh, Vic.
